Netanyahu's Aide Contracts Coronavirus by Jessy Samuel Ejah
An adviser to incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus, raising fears that she may have infected the premier while the two met on Thursday.
According according to English-language daily The Jerusalem Post, Rivka Paluch who aides the prime minister on issues concerning ultra-Orthodox affairs, tested positive after her husband was admitted to the hospital with the virus.
Despite meeting with the Israeli leader on Thursday, Netanyahu will not be placed under quarantine, Paluch said in a statement to The Post.
Paluch denies that she had any close contact with Netanyahu during their meeting at the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) and doubts she transmitted the disease to anyone.
The incident is currently being investigated, and if it is found that Netanyahu had spent more than 15 minutes with Paluch in the same room, he may be forced into a 14-day quarantine.
